  1. Really liked this. I tweaked it a bit added maybe 1-1/2c water and like 8 bouillon cubes, more veggies, chicken, and gnocchi. A lot of people said this was too thick but I think if u add more water to it and do more bouillon cubes it's not thick at all. I also used skim milk instead of whole.

  2. I love this recipe!!! and so does my friend Cindy I made it for a girls lunch one day and now sometimes she shows up at my house with her little bag of groceries just so we can hang out and I can make it for her. I add extra gnocchi just because I LOVE them and thin it with a little extra milk some times when it comes out too thick. But it is a great recipe and I use it often. Enjoy!

  3. This soup is delicious.......a bit too thick...but that's easily fixed with some extra milk. Otherwise, we were totally happy with it. My neighbor had just had Olive Garden's the week before and tasted mine (after I thinned it a bit). She said it tasted just like OG's and wanted the recipe right away. So I would say this recipe is a keeper. I also added some sauteed onion and parmesan cheese and used less flour.

  4. As written, I can only give this recipe 3 stars. Like previous reviewers have said, it is way too thick. WAY too thick. It comes out like a super thick chowder. I used half and half instead of heavy cream and I ended up adding 2-3 cups of chicken stock and it was STILL thicker than the OG version. Next time I make it, I am going to reduce the amounts of the roux ingredients (butter and flour) so that not as much liquid is needed to thin it out. Also, I will use all whole milk instead of half and half or cream. If I find a ratio that works better, I will update this review to share it. Taste wise, this is good though. It tastes very similar to the OG soup, and I am glad to have found it.

  5. Great flavor! The consistency is very thick and rich. It became too thick when it was simmering, so I had to add 1 cup of chicken stock. Even so, the soup was as thick or thicker than a potato soup. If you want the Olive Garden consistency, I recommend that you add 2-3 cups of chicken stock to thin it out. If you want a hearty winter soup, leave the recipe as it is.
