- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 12 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1⁄2 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
directions
- Beat cream cheese, cheddar cheese, onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and cayenne pepper with a mixer until combined.
- Shape into a ball.
- Roll in pecans.

Oh my! This is soo good! I followed recipe pretty close, used green onion finely chopped, garlic powder with just a pinch of salt, & I had some dutch smoked cheese I used a long with the sharp chs. Also, I prefer toasted almonds, so i used those. I love the spiciness! I think it's perfect! However, for those that dont like spicy I'd just 1/2 the cayanne. Thanks so much for a great recipe! I have a feeling my family will be asking me to bring this to ALL the future gatherings.

Excellent cheese ball! I do not care for raw onions but they were perfect in this recipe. I cut the cayenne pepper to 1/4 tsp. because I was afraid 1/2 tsp. would make it too spicy. I should have left it alone though. You could hardly notice any zip at all so I'm sure the full amount would have been fine. This make a very large cheese ball. That comes in handy for a large gathering, but if you are making it for a small party, you might want to half the recipe or make two balls and save the second one. Thanks for posting!
