- 1⁄2 cup chopped onion
- 2 lbs ground beef or 2 lbs ground turkey
- 1⁄4 cup chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 bay leaf
- 0.5 (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate square
- 2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans beef broth
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans (drained) (optional)
- 1⁄4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
directions
- Combine all ingredients in crock pot (except cheddar cheese). Cook on high all day stiring occasionally to break up the ground beef.
- Remove the bay leaf. Serve over top of hot drained spaghetti or on a hot dog. Top with cheese.
