  • For the meat loaf, combine bread, egg, barbecue sauce, garlic, pepper and chopped onion. Crumble pork and beef over top and mix well with hands or wooden spoon.
  • Place in a loaf pan and bake at 350F, 175C for an hour or until fully cooked. Let rest or sit for 5 minutes and drain off any fat.
  • Meanwhile, cook the sliced onion in a little water on medium heat until lightly golden. Add more water if necessary to prevent sticking.
  • Add barbecue sauce and sugar and mix well. Simmer on low heat until thick.
  • Pour topping over cooked meatloaf or serve along side meatloaf.

  2. I couldnt make the topping because I only had one onion so my review is for the meatloaf only. It didnt have alot of grease which was nice but it was also a bit dry. I did serve it with BBQ sauce which helped alot. My 6 yr old really enjoyed it. Thanks for an easy meatloaf recipe!

  4. I saw this and had to make it. It is much better than a typical meatloaf. The pork beef combo is a good idea and the BBQ sauce and onions give it a lot more interest. Anyone would like this and it was fast, easy and economical to make too.
