ingredients
- 1 lb chicken or 1 lb turkey
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 medium cooking onion
- 4 cloves, garlick
- 1 cup ea. of carrots and celery
- 3 (14 ounce) chicken broth
- 3 (16 ounce) cans navy beans, do not drain
- 2 (4 ounce) cans chopped green chilies, drained
- 1⁄2 tablespoon oregano, cumin and black pepper
directions
- Place oil, garlick and onion in skillit and saute till onions are semi soft then add carrots and celery and simmer about eight to ten minutes.
- place everything else in a large pot or slow cooker and place on high temperature.
- Add saute items to pot and simmer for 2 hours or till the herbs have mixed in and flavored everything.
- Serve in soup bowls with shredded cheese, sour cream and a few drops of Tobasco.
