These were great and the perfect compliment to a hot dog. My boyfriend was skeptical because he says that nothing is better than raw onions on a dog but he ended up choosing these over the raw. I halved the recipe for the two of us and we had enough to slather a good layer on three hot dogs total. Thanks for posting!

Hot dogs are popular here, Lainey, but they are 1-dimensional about how they eat them (always w/a bit of mustard + crisp fried onions) & I got so bored w/them. I made a half recipe of this easy-to-fix relish today & liked it a lot. DH is gone on a fishing trip, I am having guests for lunch tomorrow & will encore your recipe w/cheddar cheese I also used on them today. I did not grill the dogs & bet they are even better cooked that way. Thx for posting this recipe & getting me interested in eating a hot dog again. :-)
