  1. I also mixed the can of soup with milk (actually 3/4 can cream and 1/4 water because my milk had gone sour) and parboiled the potatoes and onion before assembling the dish. It still took an extra 15 min. to get completely done, and could have easily stayed in the oven 30 more min. I think this dish would be better with either cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup than the cream of celery. While that was not bad, it just could have been better. I may try this again in the crock pot, but probably not, because raw potatoes never get quite done to my taste in the crock pot. It was tasty as it was, but just not quite the stellar dish I had hoped for.

  2. I had potatoes that were on the verge of going and ham in the freezer. It was quite cold today so I threw this in the crock pot. This is comfort food and my husband almost licked the plate. This is his type of meal- not complicated with ingredients he recognized- potatoes and ham. LOL! He's quite happy that there's some leftover for lunch tomorrow.

  3. I made a Smithfield ham for Labor Day and had quite a bit left so this was the perfect way to use some of that ham. Had everything on hand and loved using my crock pot for this meal. I did use a bit more cheese in the layers and omitted the salt. Cooked on low for about 8 1/2 hours and served with green beans. Wonderful tasting scalloped potatoes and ham and a big plus, no mess on the stove to clean up. Thank you so much sweetie for posting this recipe. Made and reviewed for the Aussie recipe swap #32.

  4. This was tasty and fast to prepare. I put it all to gether in the crockpot the night before to it out of the refrig in the morning and put it on low for the 8 hours and it was ready when I got home! I also used the sugestion from Parsleys' review with the cup of milk. Turned out great! Thanks ; )

  5. Oh this was a huge hit at an impromptu family get together! I altered it a bit, I used shredded cheddar as well as shredded Mozzerella. I also substituted cream of chicken soup for the cream of celery soup. Either way this is a fast, simple and fulfilling meal for not a lot of work :)

<p>I live on the Oregon Coast with husband and four boys. I am able to stay at home with them and hold down the fort. I have many cookbooks which I enjoy searching through for our family favorites. I recently started working as a home health care worker for seniors with disabilities (which I absolutely love), I love to quilt, crochet, bake, read, garden, watch the rain (which happens quite frequently here) and play with my kids. <br /><br />I am passionate about canning, canning, canning. I will admit I like admiring all the hard work after the jars are placed on the shelves. hehee I am all for if I can make it myself I will. Yes...I am frugal. I also love to bake. Especially homemade bread. I will continue to do so until arthritis takes over my hands. Then I will use more of the mixer for the kneading part. <br />All recipes I post are ones I've made and are our famiy favorites. <br /><br />I love pretty flowers. These flowers grace our yard every year. I could watch them all day long and be perfectly content! <br /><a href=http://s260.photobucket.com/albums/ii24/zauggrc/?action=view?t=2008flowers008.jpg target=_blank><img src=http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii24/zauggrc/2008flowers008.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket /></a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&lt;img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picbzMWsf-1.jpg&gt; October 2010&nbsp;</p> <p><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pichy1L7z-1.jpg alt= /> September 2010</p> <p>&nbsp;<img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pic53mWVE-1.jpg alt= />&nbsp; August 2010</p> <p><br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pictSF7ey-1.jpg alt= />&nbsp; July 2010</p> <p><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pick0GuXD-1.jpg alt= /> June 2010</p> <p><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/piczwaa5A-1.jpg alt= /> May 2010</p> <p><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picW4Zmut-1.jpg alt= /></p> <p>April 2010</p> <p><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picO0GVGF-2.jpg alt= />&nbsp;March 2010</p> <p><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picOOqjRy-1.jpg alt= /> Feb 2010 <img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pick0GuXD-1.jpg alt= /> Jan 2010 <img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picCdyPjI-1.jpg alt= /> Dec 2009 <img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/GrassTree-1-1.jpg alt= /> November 2009 <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/MullaMulla-1-1.jpg alt= /> October 2009<img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/Dryandra-1-1.jpg alt= /> September 2009 <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pic9ysNPn-1.jpg alt= /> June 2009 <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pic9ysNPn-1.jpg alt= /> May 2009 <br /><img src=http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Iwasadopted.jpg alt= /><img src=http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Participation.jpg alt= /> <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/picbzMWsf-1.jpg alt= /> April 2009 <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pic9ysNPn-1.jpg alt= />March 2009 <img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pickxwB1q-1.jpg alt= /> February 2009 <br /><img src=http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr336/jess4freedom/Zaar%20banners/emergency_amtag.jpg alt= />January 2009 <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/pukekoinapongatree-1.jpg alt= /> <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/FringeLily-1-1.jpg alt= /> November 2008 <img src=http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/PACfall08partic.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket /><img src=http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/IWasAdoptedfall08.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket /> <br /><a href=http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/ZaarNicksMom/?action=view?t=CookingSchoolHost1.jpg target=_blank><img src=http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j166/ZaarNicksMom/CookingSchoolHost1.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket /> <img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/Darwinia.jpg alt= /> <img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/Cooking-Kangaroo-1-1.jpg alt= /> <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/numbat-1.jpg alt= /> <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/DesertRose.jpg alt= /> <img src=http://www.recipezaar.com/members/home/590105/fringelilygrp10.jpg alt= /> <br /><img src=http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/jewelies/GrassTree.jpg alt= /> <img src=http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/adoptedspring08.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket /> <br /></a><img src=http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/CV.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket /> <br /><br /><a href=http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/Missymop/?action=view?t=curriedcurrajongs.jpg target=_blank><img src=http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/Missymop/curriedcurrajongs.jpg border=0 alt=Photobucket /></a></p>
