"This salsa is great served with Salvadorean pupusas as well as a salsa to eat with traditional meals such as Yucca and Enchiladas Salvadorenos (more like a tostada)."

  1. Love this salsa. Our pupusas were delicious as well. Do ya'll leave the seeds of the peppers in or do you remove them?

  1. Sounds like a yummy salsa but not for pupusas . Salvadoreans don't eat spicy food

  2. I think this is an amazing salsa! It reminds me of a sauce that a lady from Elsalvador that I used to work with put in her tamales. It was spicy and had a fantastic flavor! I use this recipe all the time for my papusas, Chile Rilleno, and chicheron! Thanks so much for sharing this!

  3. So i tried this and it was wonderful! I was worried about how it looked after i blended it but then was so happy to see what it looks like after boiling it! It came together nicely! Super easy and delish ?? I am just learning to make pupusas and this was super easy! I did leave out the serrano chiles but only because my husband can't have anything spicy. My co worker actually said she wanted to bathe in it lol so yes, this sauce is awesome! Thank you!!!

  4. This tasted great but the recipe mentions vinegar that isn't listed in the ingredients. I didn't add any because I wasn't sure how much to add. It was delicious with the pupusas though.

  5. We made this thinking it was the traditional salsa roja that is served with pupusas. It is way too spicy. I can't taste any of the other flavors. My son lived in El Salvador. He says the salsa traditionally served with pupusas isn't spicy.
