Wow, this is a really good pound cake! I didn't have high expectations, considering it starts with a white cake mix, and wow was I pleasantly surprised. The flavors are just right, not overly sweet; and the appearance is so pretty. I was out of milk, so I used half-and-half, and that may have made for a nicer texture. Forget the kids, DH and I are keeping this one for the adults.

Wowed the adults, raves from the preteens, the six year old said "awesome" and I was impressed. Made this recipe three times. I found all mixes are not created equal!!The mixes were larger but did work out well. On the Canadian side I was unable to find the dry Nestle Strawberry Quick, so needed to sustitute. The first cake was made using three tablespoons of the liquid Strawberry Quick (stopped short of the four tablespoons I had planned to use) The second cake I subbed with Strawberry Mousse. On an extended weekend to the U.S. I found the powdered Strawberry Quick and made sure to buy the large can. All three were great, with the first two having a more delicate strawberry taste. Looks fablous served on a footed glass plate ( be sure to remove a slice to allow for a great display) Thanks for posting this recipe, Gerry 999
