  • Combine the rice mix with 2 cups of water and 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce in a dutch oven.
  • Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Stir in 1 pound sliced smoked sausage and 1 cup chopped ham.
  • Heat through.

  1. I usually have our regular boxes variety in our pantry but found that I was out of it. Thankfully, I found this recipe, what a wonderful and amazingly simple recipe. There might be better recipes, but when you might only have the dry ingredients on hand and no time to get to the store, you can make do with this. MMMMMMM, good stuff to warm us up on this cold winter evening! Thanks James!
     
  2. This was SOOOOOOO easy to make. Wow! I put just ham in it because I had to use some up. Next time will put in the sausage. This recipe, though it uses dried ingredients, is so versatile. I have almost all these dry ingredients on hand at all times and will make this over and over. The only thing I had to omit was dried parsley. Thanks for such a great & easy recipe:)
