I found this recipe years ago in a newspaper. It's a great substitute for the real thing. In fact, I prefer it, because it's sweeter. This is great with scones and a little jam or preserves on top. Perfect for afternoon teas or brunches.

  1. In small bowl, use your electric mixer to beat the cream cheese until fluffy.
  2. Beat in the sour cream and confectioners sugar until well mixed.
  3. Spoon into serving bowl and chill until serving time.

I've never tasted real Devonshire Cream so can't compare that - but made this to serve on top of Lemon-ginger scones and Easy Lemon Curd and it was awesome. This made a great topping and seat of the lemon flavor wonderful. I didn't change a thing in the recipe and it was rated 5 stars be all that tried it.

A rich and creamy made to top off ,y favorite Lemon Scones. Granddaughter Carly slathered it on her blueberry bagel and was quite a happy camper too. Made for My Baby Girl Cindy, Spring Pick-A-Chef.
