Hamwiches

"From really old cookbook. Old way of doing sandwiches in hot dog buns. They used to freeze these and pull them out as needed. You can grind filling in a food processor."

  1. This was another recipe that really reminded me of my childhood. My mother used to make this type of ham salad after Easter with the leftover ham and then at other times in the year but she used a hunk of bologna instead of the ham. I had planned to make them in the oven with the cheese, but just before I started making the salad, it started thundering, so I changed plans and made cold salad hamwiches without the cheese. For the cold salad, I opted to use sweet relish, but for the remainder of the salad, I plan to use the dill relish and cheese. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!! Made for PRMR Tag Game.
