  1. I substituted frozen mixed berries and used lemon cake mix. Delicious!

  2. I substituted yellow cake mix for the vanilla cake mix because I already had it in the pantry. I used frozen berries (which worked out fine). I excluded the nuts but added a sprinkle of a cinnamon/sugar topping on top (after the butter). Everything was perfect. There are so many ways to tweak it to your preference and it is FAST!!!

  3. I used a bag of frozen mixed berries and yellow cake mix. I'm just giving this 3 stars because it is really too sweet. Maybe a scoop of vanilla ice cream might handle some of the sweetness. Next time I make this, I will definitely cut back on the sugar. The chopped pecans added a nice touch.

  4. I had all these berries in our weekly CSA box and was looking for a way to use them for dessert. I also had all the other ingredients on hand, so it seemed like a perfect match. Well, the only thing lacking was that I didn't have vanilla ice cream on hand to enjoy with this delicious dessert. I used slightly less than the sugar indicated, just because that was all I had left, and it didn't suffer at all. I also used double the blackberries as I had that many. Very yummy summer time dessert! Thanks for sharing!!
