Sugar Cookies

"I got this from a co-worker back when I worked before we had kids. We just love the tender sweet cookie that is easy to make. The kids like helping with dipping the glass in the sugar to flatten the cookie. We use colored sugar at Christmas time."

ingredients

• 1 cup powdered sugar
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup butter
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 4 1⁄4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon cream of tartar

directions

1. Cream sugars, oil, butter, vanilla, and beaten eggs. Add dry ingredients. Form into small balls and flatten with glass dipped in sugar.
2. Bake 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool on pan a little before removing.
