ingredients
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 head red cabbage, cut up
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 -3 tablespoons vinegar
- 4 -5 tablespoons sugar
- 1 -2 apple, peeled and diced
directions
- Saute onions in butter.
- add cut up cabbage and vinegar.
- cover and simmer for about 20 to 25 minutes.
- add just enough sugar to make it sweet and sour tasting.
- add apples and reheat.

This is a wonderful and simple recipe with a mild sweet/sour flavour. I used 1 Tbsp of granular Splenda and 1 Tbsp of brown sugar. Along with the sweetness from the apple it was plenty for me. Next time I'll use the full two apples. I simmered the cabbage and apple together for an hour. Thank you for a good and easy recipe!Reply
