Pioneer Sugar Cookies

"From a bag of Pioneer sugar."

• Yields: 5 1/2 dozen

ingredients

• 2 1⁄2 cups flour
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
• 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1 egg
• 1⁄2 cup shortening
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 tablespoons milk

directions

1. All ingredients should be at room temperature.
2. Sift together flour, soda, and salt.
3. Cream together butter, shortening, sugar, and vanilla.
4. Add egg. Mix until fluffy.
5. Stir in dry ingredients until smooth.
6. Blend in milk.
7. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet.
8. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in suger.
9. Bake at 375 degrees 10-12 minutes. Cool.
