Questions & Replies

  1. How many grams of carbs per serving?
  2. Can I prepare this early in the day and then do the final bake at dinner time? Will the crust get too soggy if I put it all together, refrigerate, and then bake later?
  3. If you double this recipe, do you also double the crust?
  4. Where does the cheddar cheese go??
  5. Where is the nutritional values listed?

  1. This was really good! I made a few changes. First of all, cream cheese comes in 8oz pkgs and 3 oz pkgs. I don't really use much cream cheese, so I opted for the 3 oz so there wouldn't be any left over. The egg and cream cheese mixture had a somewhat 'unappealing' appearance, runny and lumpy. The crust, however, turned out beautifully! I could see how this could be adapted for a regular type pizza or even breakfast pizza. I should have bought that 8 oz sized pkg of cream cheese!! I also used chili sauce instead of tomato sauce and I used a full tsp of taco seasoning in the crust mix. I topped it with diced tomato, shredded lettuce, avocado, salsa and sour cream. Thanks so much for a great recipe! :-)
  2. I loved it. Made a few changes to make it lower in calories; ground turkey, fat free cheddar cheese and fat free cream cheese. To add more spice I substituted Rotel and used the entire taco seasoning package. I have shared the recipe with 3 friends and they also love it. Try it, you won't miss the tortilla.
  3. This is definitely in the "keep" stack of our low carb choices! My husband has been recently diagnosed diabetic and we are trying many new low carb recipes. This is one that he really enjoyed.
  4. Very good!! My whole family loved it!! I did add more taco seasoning to the eggs and hamburger mixture - just because my family likes lots of spice. Excellent - I will be making it again.
  5. My family and I are starting to go on a low-carb diet today. This was our first low-carb meal and it was delicious. I devoured it, and I’m 15 and my bother who’s 12 devoured it too. It’s an easy recipe and you’ll love the outcome!!

  1. This is one of my favorite low carb meals! I've made it as-is as well as tweaked it in various ways (swap cheddar for taco cheese, use salsa instead of sauce and chilies, etc.) and it's still good every time. You can also make this lower calorie by swapping out the beef for chicken. What I like to do is put 1.5-2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breast or thigh in a crock pot with a jar of salsa and a bit of taco seasoning. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours. When it's done, the chicken shreds easily with 2 forks. Use the chicken in place of the beef/sauce/chilies topping and add the regular amount of cheddar on top. It's just as good as the ground beef version, just lower calorie.
  2. I used jalapeno cream cheese in the crust for a bit of zing, and a lower carb option to tomato sauce- Goya Sofrito tomato cooking base- for a more mexican taste.
  3. We used half and half instead of whipping cream and it turned out great!
  4. I made this as normal kinda I have actually made this in to pizza I use Italian seasoning instead of taco seasoning in the crust. I also put pizza topping instead of taco toppings. My family loves this more then "real" pizza. So much so that my kids ask me every Friday for the past 3 week if I would make it for dinner again. I am making it tonight as well. It is amazing.
  5. Wow, never missed the chips. Easy to make, I will definitely make it again.
