Elaine's Rice Pilaf
This is a simple pilaf recipe but so much better than the boxed pilaf. I serve this with my Onion Sauce Chicken and always my guests rave about how good it is.
- Ready In:
- 1 cup long grain rice
- 1⁄2 cup vermicelli
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can chicken broth
- Break vermicelli into 1 inch pieces.
- Melt butter in medium saucepan. Add vermicelli and stir until lightly browned.
- Add rice and chicken stock and stir to combine. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook over low heat 20 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Enjoy.

WoW! this rice pilaf was outstanding! I used Jasmine long grain rice and I replaced the store brought can of chicken broth with using 1 cup of fresh chicken broth with 1 cup boiling water and adding 2 chicken bouillon cubes. We enjoyed this rice pilaf with recipe#236627 and both recipes will be put into my family's favorite Zaar recipes cookbook. Thanks so much for sharing the recipe! It was YUMMY!! :)
