Carol brought these to work. It really jazzes up pork and beans. She had them in the slow cooker.

Wonderful beans/meal!!! I made 1/4 of the recipe for lunch and also for DS to have before going to his night classes. I knew I would enjoy these beans as it is very similar to my own baked beans. I loved the addition of the ground beef to the recipe to make this more of a meal in one pan. I love kidney beans, but wasn't crazy for them in this recipe, too sweet for them for my tastes, so will leave them out next time. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Made for PRMR Tag Game.1Reply

I'm glad I cut this recipe in half. Because it taste so good, I probably would have ate the whole pot by myself. I did use 2 extra slices of bacon, only because my family likes it that way. I made mine on the stove top, as the family was waiting around the table with fork and knife in hand. Made for Please Review My Recipe1Reply

I just made these and am loveing them. My mother in-law made this dish years ago and then moved and doesn't have the recipe. I did two things a little diffrent. First I did not have any bacon so I used a cup of diced ham instead. Second instead of the green peppers, I added a can of drained green beans because that is the way my mother in-law did it. Other than that I followed the recipe and it turned out perfect. Thanks a millon!!!1Reply
