- 1 egg
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1⁄4 cup margarine
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 3⁄4 cup raisins
directions
- Sift together all dry ingredients.
- Combine with wet ingredients and blend well.
- Spread into a 8 inch baking pant and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 min until golden.
- Let cool.

I made this recipe yesterday. Very easy to put together and had good flavor. I wanted to make a bread loaf, so I put the batter into two small bread tins (not the normal bread loaf size of 9 x 5). It took longer to bake -- around 45 minutes. The bread turned out somewhat dry, but I pop it in the microwave for a few seconds, and it moistens up. We liked the flavor and ease of preparation, so I will try this one again using the 8" pan to see if it makes a difference in the moistness/dryness. Thanks for sharing your recipe!
