Chocolate Cobbler

"This dessert is fun because underneath the topping a pudding like sauce will form in the bottom. It is very chocolatey and is yummy served with ice cream or whipped topping."

directions

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • In a bowl, stir together 3/4 cup sugar, flour, 3 T. cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, butter, and vanilla; Mix until smooth. Pour batter into an ungreased 8" square glass baking dish.
  • Stir together remaining 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, and remaining 4 T. cocoa. Sprinkle cocoa mixture evenly over batter. Pour hot water on top- do NOT stir!
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top of the cobbler is set. Let stand for 15 minutes.
  • Spoon into individual serving dishes. The cobbler makes it's own sauce in the bottom of the pan. Spoon sauce over each serving.
  • Garnish with ice cream or whipped cream. Refrigerate leftovers- tastes great cold, too!

  1. I made this last night for my family because my 3 yr old just started potty training and yesterday he pottied for the first time so I had to make something special for him. This was so easy and paired with vanilla ice cream it was sinful. Great recipe I will be making this again for sure, I put quite a few of your recipes in my cookbooks, can't wait to try them. Thanks so much for posting! God Bless!

  2. Amazing!

  3. I love the concept, and it was easy, but the taste wasn't chocolate enough. I'm not sure if this is because I had to use regular brown sugar instead of light, but it's not what I was hoping for.

  4. WONDERFUL! This is the perfect desert for those nights you are craving something sweet, gooey and warm. It's so easy to prepare and has a slight salty taste to it which makes it truly addicting. I've already made it twice this week. Thanks so much.

I wasn''t able to serve this warm out of the oven so i was gonna serve it cold and that didn't happen either-the good new is it's awesome room temp as well! Thanks from my family to yours!!
