- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 4 (4 ounce) boneless pork chops (1/2 inch thick)
directions
- Combine brown sugar, basil, salt, and chili powder in a small bowl.
- Gradually stir in 1 tbsp oil until crumbly.
- Rub on both sides of the pork chops.
- Cook in remaining oil over medium heat in large skillet for about 7-8 minutes for each side.

These were nice. I had 1 inch thick chops so cooked them a little differently - seared about 1 min. each side on med-high then lowered the temp and cooked another 12-14 minutes until 145-150deg in the center. I didn't detect much flavor from the spices until I added some of the pan juices over the finished chops which really helped. Thanks for the recipe!
