- 453.59 g great northern bean
- 1419.54 ml chicken broth
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 14.79 ml oil
- 2 (226.79 g) can chopped green chilies
- 9.85 ml ground cumin
- 7.39 ml dried oregano
- 1.23 ml ground cloves
- 1.23 ml cayenne pepper
- 946.36 ml diced cooked chicken breasts
- 709.77 ml grated monterey jack cheese
directions
- Combine beans, chicken broth, garlic, and 1/2 of onions in large soup kettle.
- Bring to boil and simmer until beans are tender- 3 hours or more.
- Add more broth if necessary.
- Saute remaining onions in oil until tender- add chilies and seasonings, mix thoroughly.
- Add to bean mixture.
- Add chicken and continue to simmer 1 hour.
- Serve topped with grated cheese.
