This is one of my favorite breakfasts when strawberries are in season. Prep time includes waiting for the sugar to melt.

Nelka, this is such a soothing and refreshing way to eat strawberries. As a child, I ate my strawberries this way and continue to do so today. I really can't think of a better way to eat strawberries. Thank you for sharing.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 cup strawberry (halved or quartered)
  • 1 cup cold milk (or as much as you like)
  • 2 -3 tablespoons sugar


  1. Put the strawberries in a serving bowl and sprinkle with the sugar.
  2. Let them sit for some 10-15 min (or until the sugar melts completely) and then pour the milk over them and mix well.
  3. Enjoy.
