Lazy Man's Cabbage Roll

"We LOVE cabbage rolls, sadly, I don't always have the time to make them the way Grandma always made them. This is the next best thing to them without all the work of making individual cabbage rolls."

  1. This was great! They tasted just like the regular recipe but without all the fuss! Even the kids asked for more & they usually turn their noses up to cabbage! We only used half the head, so next time we'll use all of it. Excellent recipe! Thanks!

  2. I also added to this a dash of cider vinegar and a can of diced tomatoes along with a tablespoon of brown sugar

  3. I used pork. I also added a can of diced tomatoes. A sprinke a wee sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg in the tomato mixture.

  4. I cook with beef so I used beef broth to cook the rice and I also used half brown and white rice. Really yummy.

  5. I make this for my family and they love it. They wont eat cabbage rolls but love this. I saute my cabbage first just to make it soft and add shredded cheddar cheese on top in the last 15 minutes.

Tweaks

  1. Beef broth and 1/2 brown rice.

  2. Wonderful, used all lean hamburger, doubled the recipe, added some garlic and used tomato juice in place of the soup omitting the water, put it in the crockpot and let it cook all day on low, served with mashed potatoes. Thanks will be making this again.
