  • Preheat oven to 325.
  • Combine butter, light corn syrup, sugar and cocoa into a heavy sauce pan and cook over LOW heat stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Let cool.
  • Add to the mixture: 4 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Stir well.
  • Add to the mixture: 1/2 cup chopped pecans and 1/2 cup flaked coconut.
  • POUR filling into a 9 inch UNBAKED pie shell and top with 1/2 cup of pecans.
  • Bake at 325 degrees for 55 minutes.
