- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups water
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1⁄2 cup instant coffee
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1 (750 ml) bottle vodka
directions
- 1. Boil sugar and 3 cups water over medium heat until thick and syrupy. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
- 2. Combine boiling water, coffee and vanilla. Add to syrup.
- 3. After the mixture has cooled at least to room temperature add vodka. We store it in vodka bottles and store it in the fridge, although I have never heard of it going bad on the counter.
- Note: When I double this recipe I use a half gallon of vodka and just enjoy the extra alcohol content.
