From my Mother-in-Law, I haven't tried this yet so I am unsure of the yield.
- Bring sugar, cocoa, and 2 cups of milk to a boil.
- Mix 1/4 cup of milk with cornstarch and add to boiling mixture.
- Boil gently for 5 minutes, then add vanilla.
- Cool slightly and serve over ice cream.
- Store in the fridge.
This is very good for what it is. I wouldn't quite call it hot fudge sauce- it's more like a very thick fudge pudding. It doesn't have the "chew" that hot fudge typically has. That being said, it does make a great hot fudge sauce, I used it to top a cheesecake. I used a good quality cocoa- Ghirardelli, I think poor quality cocoa would wreck it. I halved the recipe and yielded about 1 3/4 cups of sauce- so it's very generous. I will be making this again, thank you for sharing.
