- 2 1⁄4 teaspoons yeast
- 1⁄4 cup rye flour
- 1 cup bread flour
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon vital wheat gluten
- 1 tablespoon oat bran
- 1 tablespoon oats
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds
- 2 tablespoons wheat bran
- 2 tablespoons powdered milk
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 tablespoons prune puree or 2 tablespoons applesauce
- 1 1⁄4 cups water
directions
- Add all ingredients in the order suggested by your bread machine manual
- Cook on the basic bread cycle according to the manufacturer's directions.

Delicious bread! Moist and dense. Made a few adjustments: used olive oil instead of the applesauce as I was out. Added 1 heaping tbsp. of cocoa for color, substituted 2 tblp. of molasses for the 1 tbsp. of honey. I will probably add a couple of extra tbsp. of water next time as the dough was thick and the top of the crust was misshapened! But a nice hearty healthy bread!
