This recipe was very good. The texture turned out light and airy - almost like store bought. I used honey instead of molasses and added about 1/4 cup wheat germ. It's wonderful with thin sliced cheese, or chicken salad. This also inspired me to create a pecan bread recipe that turned out great, as well. I'll post it to share.

This makes a wonderful loaf of bread which slices easily. The only change I made is that I used a packet of instant maple flavored oatmeal, because I had run out of my regular oatmeal. I also used quick rise yeast with this recipe for the first time and it worked very well. This bread makes a great sandwich, and I used it for French toast this morning - oh, yum! I could easily sit down and eat the rest of this with a little butter, no problem!!

This bread is wonderful. I made it using oat flour instead of wheat. It needed about 1/4 cup more oat flour to make up the difference of the grittiness of the wheat. I also used honey because I don't care for the robust taste of molasses. I used the dough setting and let it rise in a regular loaf pan for easier slicing. It came out great and my husband loves it just plain without the butter. It also makes tasty sandwiches and is very delicious toasted. I will be making it often.

The first time I made this I made it exactly as directed and it turned out pretty good. This time I substituted 1/4 cup oat bran for 1/4 cup of the bread flour but otherwise made as directed and I think I liked it just a little bit better. I spread it with butter and used it to dip in tomato soup. Delicious.
