4 star for taste, 2 star for adaptability to a bread machine and turning out right the first time. I've tried this twice now. Both times the loaf collapsed. Reading thru the comments, this apparently is a very common issue that folks are having yet I don't believe the recipe has been corrected to prevent this? Does it need an egg added for stability? The only thing I'm not doing is pre-activating the yeast because I am using instant yeast. The first time I used 2 tsp. This resulted in a high loaf which then collapsed badly. The bread was shaped like an H nearly. The second time it was better, I reduced the instant yeast to 1 1/2 tsp and increased the salt to 1 1/2 tsp. But unfortunately, it also collapsed again tho not as significantly as my first attempt. I'll most likely just go back to using another recipe that I also like that doesn't have the collapsing issue. YMMV.Replies 3
