When I became a vegetarian I took my old popular chili recipe and altered it to not include meat. My meat eatin husband likes this as much as my old one.
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 3 cans kidney beans
- 2 cans stewed tomatoes
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 package mild false alarm chili seasoning mix
- 1 (12 ounce) package Morningstar Farms grillers
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Saute onion in the margarine.
- Add everthing else.
- Cook one hour.
I don't know what Morningstar Farms Grillers are, so I used Quorn mince and some cooked lentils! Delicious chilli, I would have liked a little cumin and garlic in it, but it was still very tasty. I did not add the sugar as I felt it did not need it. I did not cook mine anywhere near 1 hour, it took about 30 minutes. A quick and easy recipe that satisfied my hunger - thanks so much! I loved this over steamed rice. You did a very good joib adapting this.
