Reviews

  1. Great easy meal. Easy to make gluten-free by substituting rice noodles. This is a keeper!

  2. I can't believe I forgot to review this recipe. I have made this several times and it has always been good. It's as simple to make as those boxed "Just add hamburger" starters. The taste however, is eons above the boxed kind and you can add a wide variety of herbs to give it a different flavor. Thanks Shelly

  3. This is good and best of all quick and easy. I left out the peppers (husband doesn't like them) and used elbow macaroni. French bread and a salad and the meal is complete!

  4. Excellent quick and easy recipe. We made it with elbow macaroni and added salt, pepper and garlic powder. Topping it with shredded cheese or grated Parmesan cheese adds flavor.

  5. This was easy to fix, and very good, although a bit on the bland side. My son and I don't care for peppers, so I left them out, and that may account for the bit of blandness. I'll make this again and add some Italian Herb seasoning to "spice" it up. A good one-dish meal.

Tweaks

  1. We substituted ground turkey for the ground beef. We used one pound of 85/15 ground turkey. To the ground turkey we added one tablespoon Kitchen Bouquet browning sauce and one tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, mixing it well with the ground turkey. We sauteed the peppers and onions first, then added the ground turkey mixture. After adding the beef broth we added a dash of salt, pepper and ground cumin. It was very tasty.
