Chilli Bean Dip

ingredients
- 118.29 ml red kidney beans or 396.89 g refried beans, canned
- 29.58 ml butter
- 29.58 ml oil
- 2 slice bacon, chopped finely
- 1 onion, sliced finely
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 9.85 ml cumin
- 9.85 ml basil
- 1.23 ml chili powder
- 44.37 ml tomato paste
- 29.58 ml wine vinegar
directions
- Heat butter and oil in a large frypan and lightly fry bacon, onion and garlic.
- Add cumin, basil and chilli powder and cook gently for 2 minutes.
- Add beans and mash.
- Cook over a low heat stirring often.
- Add tomato paste and vinegar and continue to cook until bubbling.
- Serve.
- OPTIONAL:Transfer to oven safe serving dish and put some grated cheese on top and heat till cheese is melted before serving.

I'm in the southern most part of the world. In Invercargill New Zealand. I live with my husband Milton, our two boys Alexander (22 September 2004) and Mason (21 November 2006) and our daughter Ruby (18 April 2008).
