Chili Lover's Chili

"This chili recipe is so good! It did not come from a written recipe so I don't have exact measurements.I just add what's needed until it tastes right.I usually make the pinto beans from a leftover spiral ham bone (saving the liquid from the bottom of the pan the ham was cooked in-liquid gold I call it-adding to the chili also)and have the beans for dinner one night and chili the next.there's only 3 in my family so it works out just right!"

  1. This isn't a recipe, it's a list of ingredients. If it doesn't taste good, is it the recipe's fault or my fault? Make the recipe and measure out the ingredients so we can approximate what you've done.

  2. Great recipe. A good cook can make a great dish with just the basic ingredients. I made a few changes. I did not have any beer so I substituted the beer for about 1/4tsp of "Liquid Smoke". Wow, great chili. Thanks.

  3. Since there were no exact measurements, we had to guess & adjust everything. Using those ingredients though, was a success & the taste was very enjoyable, with a nice kick. However, it could have been a little thicker by adding a thickening agent. If you're doing this recipe because of the low calories shown-DON'T! I figured them out & they are over 10 times the amount. My husband has added his own version, with exact measurements, & it will be showing up in the next few days under - "Chili Lover's Chili 1"

  4. As stated this is just a list of ingredients. Made it today and IT IS AWESOME !! I now have the amounts and will post them under Chili Lovers Chili 1 as Sparkle did all the work. You have GOT to try this.
