This recipe began as a scout project back in the 1970's as a cranberry nut bread, but I prefer blue berries. Black walnuts have a distinct strong flavor, so don't use any more than recipe calls for.
This is so easy and delicious. Next time I will use only one loaf pan and adjust the baking time accordingly. As a cake, I might even try a glaze such as Honey Glaze. Thanks, Acadia, for a bread/cake recipe that even DH loves! Made for Went to Market tag game.

What can I say about this recipe - but WOW! Great flavor and so easy to make. I used fresh blueberries. I didn't add the walnuts as we don't care for them. A wonderful bread, we had it nice and hot right out of the oven for breakfast. Thanks for the great recipe. Made for the Potluck tag.

What an easy recipe. This gave a lovely loaf with great flavor and texture. I used regular walnuts (no black around) and popped frozen berries into the mix. I checked it at 40 mins and it was very ready. I'd suggest that you check it at 30 mins to see how it's doing and judge from how it's doing in your oven. I used Splenda for the sugar. Thanks Acadia for another great recipe. :D
