Baked Onion Rings

"Delicious onion rings. They do take some time and are a bit messy to make, but taste great. They are also a bit more healthy since they are baked instead of fried and coated in the Panko bread crumbs."

  • Prep: 1 cup flour in bowl/tupperware. Add seasoning salt and pepper to taste).
  • In a second bowl: mix one egg and a few tablespoons of milk. beat with fork.
  • In a 3rd container: Panko bread crumbs, seasoning salt, pepper.Drizzle a slight amount of olive oil over the mixture.
  • Cut onion into rings. (Vidalia onions are the best!).
  • Put several rings in flour mixture. Coat evenly.
  • Remove rings from flour mixture, dip quickly in egg/milk mixture.
  • Put rings in bread crumbs and coat evenly. Remove and lay on greased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until done.
  • It is easier to put the 3 bowls/ingredients into tupperware with a lid and shake with onions in it.
