Sour Cream Tuna Bake

"From Mary Beth Roe of QVC. A change from the old mushroom soup recipe. My husband also likes to stir in chopped celery and more grated cheddar."

  1. It's so good. Added a little mayo because didn't have enough sour cream for double batch. Peas, Mushrooms and Spinach. Crust on top looks fantastic. Can't wait for family to taste.

  2. This turned out fantastic! I did tweak it a bit- an extra can of tuna, extra mushrooms, sharp cheddar, a dollop of cream cheese, peas, and crushed potato chips instead of breadcrumbs.

  3. Didn't have any mushrooms, used some green beans plus a mix of onions and bell peppers. Skipped the butter and drizzled a little olive oil (extra virgin) and balsamic vinegar over the top. Nothing to get excited about, but it was pretty good and a good way to enjoy tuna fish.

  4. Thank you for a very tasty dinner tonight. I did take a few liberties with the recipe, using small shell pasta instead of noodles and fresh garlic and mushrooms. I sauteed the garlic and mushrooms with some red onion and red bell pepper. I also added some parboiled green bean pieces to the mix, too. Stuck to the recipe otherwise, but did salt to taste, rather than the amount in the ingredient list. Very good and very easy. I'm sure I'll be making this again.

  5. 3rd time making this, delicious every time. I used diced celery (gives great crunch) & frozen peas rather than mushrooms, half & half instead of milk, doubled everything but the cheddar cheese, added more parm & breadcrumbs so the whole top was covered, & this time used herbed egg noodles. Yum.

Husband and I are retired in Hawaii. I love cats, mystery novels, colored antique glassware, daisies, and General Hospital. I would rather reheat leftovers than cook, so I hunt for easy recipes.
