Chocolate Drops (Aka Macaroons)

"This is a great no-bake cookie recipe. Very yummy and chocolaty! Hard to keep in the house. Sometimes I make them at Christmas and call them Reindeer droppings. Yield is approximate."

• Serves: 36

ingredients

• 2 cups sugar
• 4 tablespoons cocoa
• 1⁄2 cup milk
• 1⁄2 cup margarine
• 3 cups oats
• 1 cup coconut
• 1 cup chocolate chips
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

directions

1. In a microwave safe bowl mix, sugar, cocoa, milk and margarine. Microwave (or cook in sauce pan) until boiling.
2. Add oats, coconut, chocolate chips and vanilla.
3. Drop tbsp sized cookies on a waxed paper covered cookie sheet. Chill in fridge until firm.

I have been trying to get a copy of this for years. Very easy to make but I didn't have any chocolate chips on hand so I added an extra 1/2 tablespoon of cocoa. With or with out the chocolate chips there are great.
