Pear Sauce

"This is a good way to use your ripe or over ripe pears. I use this for my pear bar recipe. It can also be used in preparing low fat baked goods. Make a lot and freeze it while the pears are in season."

  1. This is yummy! I used it in a pear bread recipe and the bread turned out delicious. I also like the sauce by itself.

  2. This recipes was so simple and delicious, my kids were fighting over it. I added a little cinnamon and used brown sugar. Thanks!!!

  3. I was given a bag of pears from a neighbour's tree and decided to make pear sauce. This was exactly the kind of recipe I was looking for and it worked beautifully. Thank you very much for posting.

  4. ABS:)LUTELY INSANELY YUMMY! I had 3 overripe Bosc pears about to go in the trash when the inspiration struck to try and make pear sauce. I found your recipe and voila! I only had 3 pears, so I halved the recipe. I used *turbinado sugar* and added a couple of dashes of *cinnamon*. These never actually made it into the blender to make sauce, however. We decided to use the chunky pears over oatmeal. Would also make a delicious addition to vanilla ice cream. FANTASTIC! Thanks!

  5. I used brown sugar to make these and doubled the lemon juice. I've been enjoying them for healthy breakfasts, with Greek yoghurt, but I'm going to keep the recipe in mind when I'm next making a muffin or bread recipe using apple sauce, as this would be a tasty variation. Thanks for sharing!
