Crust
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs, beaten

Bean Mix
- 3⁄4 lb lean ground beef
- 1⁄2 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 2 (15 ounce) cans beans
- 0.75 (10 1/2 ounce) can tomato soup
directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all of the ingredients for the crust together. The batter will be lumpy. Spread into a 9x9 casserole dish. In a large frying pan brown the ground beef and drain the fat out. Add the chopped onion and cook until clear. Add in the remaining bean mix ingredients and cook until hot. Spoon the bean mixture onto the batter. Cook in the oven for 30 minutes. In the last 15 minutes of cooking you can add shredded cheese to the top for added flavour. For a large 9x13 casserole just double the recipe.

Very nice recipe. I didn't have enough ground beef so I added 2 cut up beef franks as well. I used 2 cans of jalapinto beans, which were slightly larger than 15oz, so I used the whole can of soup too. It was condensed, I'm not sure if that made a difference.<br/><br/>The only problem I had was it was a little salty, but that might've been because I accidentally used salted butter.
