- 3 lbs tart apples, peeled cored & sliced
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- In a 3-4 qt crockpot, combine the apples, brown sugar & lemon juice; cook on high 3-4 hours.
- Mash with a potato masher into the consistency you want; stir in cinnamon & serve warm or cold.

I followed the recipe, with the possible exception of the amount of apples. I did not have a scale, so guesstimated on the 3 pounds. Giving an approximate number of apples next to the weight would have been helpful. As the other reviewer indicated, there was a lot of juice. Way too much juice. I have made crock pot applesauce with another recipe in th past with better results.Reply
I had some apples to use (mostly granny smith), so I went with this. I felt it was a tad too much lemon juice, next time I'd mix the lemon juice with water and dip the apples before cooking instead of having so much juice in the crock pot.
