- 1⁄2 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 lb light brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 12 ounces chocolate or 12 ounces carob chips
- 1⁄2 cup chopped walnuts
directions
- Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in sugar.
- Stir in eggs, one at a time.
- Stir in sifted dry ingredients.
- Add chocolate chips and nuts.
- Bake in greased bar pan in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
- When cool, cut into bars.
