This is a great tasting and eye pleasing treat. I found a few of these recipes so I compared them all and came up with using 1/2 cup butter (one stick), 34 large marshmallows, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 4 1/2 cups of corn flakes, and of course the red hots. As for the food coloring, I just kept adding it until I liked the darkness of the green. If you spray your hands with Pam after every cluster or two, you shouldn't have a sticking problem. I also found that parchment paper works so much better then wax paper. Clean your pot right after your done! The hot water will disolve the sticky mess right away. I'm also going to try the mini M&M's next time.

These are quite yummy. My mom has made these for several years, it is a holiday tradition in our house. As a kid we would compare green tongues. These freeze well too. Just layer between waxed paper in an air tight container.

Excellent recipe and so much fun for the little ones as well as the big ones. I love quick and easy especially at Christmas. Did you know that dipping your fingers in water and shaking off excess is less greasier then buttering your fingers. I keep a cup of water on the counter while I'm shaping. Merry Christmas Thanks for posting a great recipe. My cookie tray will be beautiful this year. I will use mini Christmas M & M's.

These are so fun! I think I needed to add more food coloring to make the wreathes darker in color, but they turned out great. They're a blast to make and so it would be a great holiday project to do with family or kids!

I followed the measurements but there didn't seem to be enough marshmallow Mix (4c mini marshmallows) to coat all the corn flakes

Add 1/4-1/2 tsp. Peppermint extract to the marshmallow mixture after adding the food color for a wonderful Minty flavor, & top w M&M's for a minty chocolate flavor!!

I used 1/2c less corn flakes and they came out better!
