  • Beat salt, vanilla and milk at medium to fast speed until ingredients triple in bulk.
  • Gradually while still beating add sugar followed by gelatine.
  • Place in container and freeze for several hours stirring occasionally.

I was looking for the recipe to make ice cream in the ice cream maker using the Carnation milk My grandmother used to make it but it has to go on the stove two Double boil I know that she used 1/2 milk and 1/2 she also use the yolk of the egg I just don't remember how many cans or eggs know it's a timing thing to know when the custard is ready can anyone help me

  1. My mother used to make this. I wouldn't compare it to ice cream but rather call it a frozen dairy dessert. I added some pureed fresh peaches that were getting a bit soft, and a little cinnamon. Delicious and light, since this is mostly air. Air doesn't have any calories either!
     
  2. Whenever I have a can of milk that is needed to be used up by expiry date, I make half of recipe in my icecream maker. It is not a super hard icecream but it is tasty and easy and delicious when topped with a sauce and nuts. Thank you...it is also an economical recipe as cream is getting very costly. Thank you for submitting this classic.

  5. This was a beautiful creamy icecream! I halved the recipe and used light evaporated milk. Next time I might rry using splenda to cut down on calories again. A definate keeper!
