Tuna Goop

"An easy tuna casserole cooked on the stove top and made with items most likely in your pantry. This is a DH creation that he absolutely loves and I have learned to like. It was originally made w/o peas but I find it more enjoyable with the peas."

  1. So good I have to have two helpings every time I eat it. I was out of onions so I had to use onion powder, and I will probably use canned peas instead of frozen next time. It was already cheesy using just a cup of cheese (a whole pound called for in the recipe! lol). This tastes just as good the next day - it does not dry out.

  2. I like the idea of being able to create a quick meal with stuff found in my pantry. We recently bought several cases of tuna on sale and I'm looking for ways to use it. My husband and half my kids liked it (the leftovers were really good) but my picky eaters wouldn't touch it. This is a good meal if you are running low on time. I used cheddar cheese soup and cream of celery in place of the cream of mushroom. I also left out the mushrooms.

  3. Did change a few things, leaving out the mushrooms & subing cream of chicken soup for the mushroom kind! Also used the 2 cups of peas, 'cause I, too, REALLY like peas! Fast preparation & a tasty casserole! Thanks for posting the recipe! [Made & reviewed for one of my adopted chefs in the current PAC]

Mother of 3 great kids - 17, 15 and 13 months! Yes I am a little crazy. I recently learned to cook when my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2001(whom we recently lost this past October 2007). <img src="http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y120/peacefulnightdove/stpatchallenge.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <a href="http://s19.photobucket.com/albums/b161/tisht/?action=view¤t=tish2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b161/tisht/tish2.jpg" border="0" alt="Recipezaar Challenge 2008"></a>
