Now THIS is a marinade! I've never had the Applebee's version and now, I never care if I do because I can make it at home! This had a nice kick to it and made our steaks taste wonderful! I used sirloins and since I forgot to put them in the night before, I halved the water so the marinade was more potent. I soaked them in it for 8 hours and the ends were salty after cooking. It was my own dumb fault but there a word of warning to make sure you use the 4 cups of water to dilute the salt content. And to the person that said these were too spicy: this is a Cajun recipe. If you don't like Cayenne, you probably should avoid Cajun cooking since it is one of the biggest staples of that cuisine. It's supposed to be spicy. I thought they were absolutely perfect and I will be making this again and again. Thanks for posting!
