ingredients
- 14.79 ml grated onion
- 3 small garlic cloves, minced
- 14.79 ml grated fresh gingerroot
- salt
- 236.59 ml soy sauce
- 4.92 ml sesame oil
- 118.29 ml Japanese sake or 118.29 ml dry sherry
- 59.14 ml light brown sugar
- 907.18 g chicken (to serve) or 907.18 g fish, pieces (to serve)
directions
- Place all ingredients in a small saucepan and warm gently over medium heat, stirring until sugar has dissolved.
- Strain through fine cheesecloth, if desired. It is excellent as is- The small flakes of onion, garlic and ginger give it body.
