I was looking for a butter bread recipe when I first bought my bread machine and I found this. I posted this for safe keeping. It's really yummy and it's really worth trying.:) DH's favorite.
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 5 tablespoons butter (real is great)
- 3 1⁄2 cups bread flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons yeast
- Add into your bread machine according to the manufacturer's direction.
I signed up today just to write a review for this bread. My mother made a egg and butter yeast bread and I have been looking for one that would translate well for the bread machine. This is it! I used Kerrygold Irish butter, a beautiful organic egg and and whole milk. The smell and taste is devine and it's absolutely gorgeous. I used the 2 pound setting on my machine and it rose and baked beautifully with no cratering. Thank you!
This bread is so soft and delicious. It doesn't have an overly yeasty taste like the basic recipe from my bread maker. I just loved the crust on it. It was a little crispy and not chewy and tough like other breads I've made. I made it on the 2lb setting and it came out beautifully.
