Posted for the World Tour 2005 RecipeZaar event. I haven't tried this yet. I will soon. The recipe is from Haute Thai - Everyday Dishes - Eating Thai Style. This is a community cookbook put together by members of Heritage of Thailand, a Houston area organization.
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender. Blend on medium speed for just a half minute, or until the mixture is smooth. Pour into a bowl or other container you can use in a steamer.
- Heat a steamer until the water in steamer is boiling. Set container on steamer basket which rests inside the steamer pan above the boiling water. Cover and steam for about 30 - 45 minutes until the custard is set.
- Remove from heat and serve warm.
I made this for today's breakfast and loved it, oh so easy to. I did cut back the sugar to 1/4 cup which was plenty for me. Made for Culinary Quest 2016 but will make it again.
This was so ridiculously easy. I cooked it in my rice cooker. The only problem was it was sooooooooo sweet. It was still addictively yummy, tho. Are there sweetened & unsweetened versions of coconut cream?
